Happy Sunday, and Happy March! We are finally heading into Spring, and there’s a bit of a stretch in the evenings already, which is lovely to see.
Things here are good, I’ve had a lovely week, with a bit of everything. I met up with Louise on Thursday, and we had a lovely chat. Someone commented that it’s great that we are still getting on well after bringing out a book together, but it really was a joy to work with Louise, she’s wonderful.

I got to Ballina, which was a promise I made to myself a while ago, and only just got there. Two lovely blog readers had left me tips for my birthday, and I made the most of it. I went to Baker51 for breakfast – you can read about that here. I also got a box of treats from Michelle’s Bakery – not all for me by the way! I will write about Michelle’s Bakery in a different post.
I visited two art exhibitions, and I had a lovely chat with some people, including Ray from Pangur Bán Bookshop. Camilla was telling me about Ray, and about his lovely shop, and he’s as friendly and welcoming as she told me he was. It’s great to see an independent bookshop in Ballina, and he’s wonderful at giving people recommendations for books. Do pop in if you are near the area.

Ballina is great for charity shops, and I was thrilled to see a Henry Hoover for sale. I’ve wanted one for years, when I bought him there was a lot of interest from other customers, and I didn’t want to leave him there to go and get the car. So, I ended up wheeling him through the streets on Ballina, much to the surprise of a lot of people! Even at my age I can still turn heads 😉
Today I went into town shopping and to visit the Spring Craft and Gift Fair in The Clayton Hotel. I had some paintings to give to the Sathya Sai Sanctuary for their fundraising stall. I was having a bit of a wobble, the anxiety feeling came back and I was wondering why because I’ve been doing well lately. It was only when I left that I realised that it was a place where I’d feel very anxious before, and those feelings had come flooding back. I’m grand now that I know what it was, it’s mad how it took me back to a moment in time that triggered me. Also, someone said something to me today that made me a bit cross. I give so much of my time to promote things, and I do it gladly, but I don’t like it when I’m expected to do it. Anyway, I’ll get over it.
Wishing you all a good week ahead, and thank you for reading.
