If you are looking for a new walk in Sligo town, you might like the one at Far Finisklin. It’s a lovely flat walk, so it would be suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and the views are beautiful. You can look over the bay, watch the seabirds, and view Benbulben.

It’s in the location of the former Sligo landfill site, and as it’s waiting to be landscaped there’s still evidence of refuse on the muddy areas. There’s a carpark at the site, including a couple of disabled spaces, and also a bike park. There are some seats along the walk, so you can take a break if you need to.

There’s a news article in the Sligo Weekender from 2021, it’ll tell you more about the plans for the park and the walk. https://www.pressreader.com/ireland/sligo-weekender/20211111/281642488411161

It’ll be lovely to have something on that side of town, the one at Cleaveragh is very busy, and I’m sure this one will be the same.
The walk is on the Far Finisklin Road, close to Sligo Glass, and on the way from Finisklin to Gibraltar Point.
