Happy Out – our book was officially launched at The Glasshouse Hotel in Sligo town last night. What a rollercoaster of emotions it was! I’m going to try to put it into words, but it’s quite difficult as I’m still trying to process it. Thanks to Clear-view Fiction Editing for the pic above.
I was really not looking forward to the event, I was very anxious, and I wasn’t sure if anyone would turn up, and I just really wasn’t sure how it would all go. It was way beyond my expectations though. So many people came along, on a night that was promised to be very bad weather wise. I’ll never forget looking up and seeing the queue for people to buy the book and for us to sign it. It really was a dream come true, and both Louise and I are so proud of the book.

I was shocked at people who bought us presents too, and not something that I had expected at all! Ann made me laugh with a Mother in Laws tongue plant for each of us! My lovely nail technician and her husband gave us flowers, Brid and Kate gave us bottles of Prosecco, Mamta gave me a beautiful pen, Ruby had lots of goodies for me and Lucy and Orla had me spoilt with unicorn goodies. It was just so thoughtful of everyone and so appreciated. Alan was there with his beautiful art work and was handing out cards to people, which was so kind of him, and he’d come all the way from Roscommon too.
I got the shock of my life when Lucy walked in, because I thought she was working and didn’t have the car, Laurence also came along, and neither of them were meant to be there. I was thrilled to see them both.
Everyone was very complimentary about the book; Louise read a couple of poems from it, and I rambled on about all kinds of things. I really do need to learn when to stop talking.
I couldn’t sleep last night because my mind was going over the event, I’m so very grateful to everyone who came along, you’ll never know how much it meant to us. If you didn’t get to the event and you’d like to buy a copy of the book you can find it:
