Update – May 2025. The last remaining copies of the book are in Strokestown Park, Co. Roscommon.
I’m delighted to let you all know that our book is now for sale! ‘Happy Out’ is a colourful new book of images and poems inspired by the west of Ireland. I collaborated with Roscommon writer Louise G Cole. We became friends as the mothers-in-law to our children, Louise’s son Laurence and my daughter Lucy.
I knew ‘Happy Out’ was going to be something very special when we were working on it, but to see it in real life was just something else. It’s been an absolute joy to work with Louise, she has such a way with words, and I can’t wait for you all to see our book.
Gillian Keane, our graphic designer used her magic touch to put Louise’s words and my photographs together and I know I biased but the book really is special. We got it printed by Smart Imaging in Dublin, it’s very important to us to keep the money in Ireland, and we also wanted a high-quality book, which is exactly what we got.

We are hosting a book launch on Monday, November 18th at The Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo. I’m very nervous about it but I’ll have Louise by my side, so I’ll be OK. Details are above, and I hope some of you can make it. We’ll have books for sale, and if you’ve previously bought a book and would like us to sign it, please bring it along.
If you can’t make the event, you can buy the book online at Buy the Book – you have the option of buying a signed book too, and we can ship to the island of Ireland, Europe, Canada, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
