Sharlene Kemple Ceramics – The Sligo Gift Guide

Sharlene Kemple is a ceramic artist from Sligo who explores the themes of nature and texture through fine porcelain. Her signature collections are inspired by a lifelong love of the coast and treasures that come with the tides. Sharlene creates pictures that are tactile as well as visually appealing, often with 3D elements that reach out from the surface inviting viewers to engage with them on multiple levels. Each piece is handmade in her studio in Coolaney.

For Christmas 2024, Sharlene has added to her ornament collection with the Benbulben/ Blackrock and Knocknarea/Wave baubles. These are perfect luxury ornaments for gifting to loved ones from Sligo. They are completely handmade in Sligo and feature the iconic local scenery by night.  The ornaments are available on her website in early November and can be shipped anywhere or collected locally.

Also new in 2024 , the ‘Spraoi’ is a new fun colourful bauble that plays on childhood nostalgia colouring books and christmas lights. They are made from porcelain and glazed with tiny pieces of coloured glass and totally unique by nature.

The Rosses Point buoy ornament is exclusive to the website.  It’s another ode to childhood nostalgia of growing up in Sligo where ‘the bomb’ was, and still is, a landmark on the beach for climbing on or racing to.

You will also find Cairdeas, Seoda and Sinach ornaments from the signature collections at The Cat & the Moon in Sligo as well as a large collection of framed ceramic art.

Sharlene sells her items at over 20 locations around Ireland and creates ceramic scenery local to each area. The website hosts a large selection and Sharlene is fully contactable via the contact link on the site if the piece you are looking for is not listed or out of stock.
