The Taste of Sligo Food Festival took place on 21st and 22nd September in Queen Maeve Square, Sligo town. It was great to see something like this back in town, I think the last Só Sligo Festival was in 2014.

I went along on Sunday to have a look, and the place was packed! The weather played ball, there was a great atmosphere, and something for everyone. I just stayed for a couple of hours, but I loved listening to the Ukulele Sligo band, they look like they are having so much fun!

I saw a bit of Chef Sham’s cooking demo, the demo tent was packed to the gills, and Sham had a huge queue of people buying his book.

There were all kinds of creatures wandering around the place, there was plenty of food for people to sample, including jams and chutneys, cakes, bread, and sausages. There were also plenty of food stalls, with everything from sushi to burgers, bubble waffles to ice cream and even oysters. I saw food stalls from Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Donegal and Mayo, and I’m sure there were more counties there too.

The kids could enjoy zorbing, face painting, the tea cup ride, and more. There was also Miss. Pink, a children’s entertainer, who had the little folk singing and dancing.

I’d like to say a special thanks to Moran’s Mega Jam who gave me a jar of their gorgeous basil pesto, Pink Clover who gave me an almond croissant, and O’Hara’s of Foxford who gave me a bag full of goodies.

I enjoyed wandering around and taking photos, it’s been a while since I’ve taken event photos, I’ll put all my photos in the gallery below. Well done to all the organisers on a really enjoyable event.

This isn’t a sponsored post, I paid for my ticket for the festival, and I was just taking photos for the blog.
