Sunday Thoughts

Welcome to another Sunday Thoughts blog post. I hope you are all keeping well, and for those of you in Ireland, I hope that you’ve been enjoying the bit of sunshine we had on Friday and Saturday. Thursday was a wash out, so we won’t even mention that!

I’ve had a busy week, I on holiday from work, so I’m trying to cram in as much as I can, around appointments. On Monday I went to Westport and had a ball, I do find that I get quite tired quickly though, and my ‘social battery’ wears down. I think I’d be better staying overnight sometimes to give myself a chance to recover, and go back and face the world, and talk to the people that I want to talk to, instead of running away. I did enjoy my visit though, and you can read about it here: https://magnumlady.com/2024/08/07/a-day-trip-to-westport/

Thanks to Sian and Damien for letting me visit and take photos of the beautiful Ted and Bob. I needed a photo of a ginger cat for the book, and I wasn’t having much luck. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better models, these two were perfect (and Ted and Bob weren’t bad either!) and I now have loads of photos for Louise to choose from.

My podcast is doing really well, it’s three months old tomorrow, and it’s been listened to over 1000 times. The latest episode is with Stella and David from Pasta Fresca in Sligo town, I loved hearing about their business, and you can listen back here.

I had my spa trip on Friday morning, it was like being on holiday, and I really enjoyed it. The full blog post is here.

Yesterday, I took Jono to Mohill Library, they were doing a Pokemon Card Trade session, there were only a few people there, but they were so friendly, and we both loved visiting. I was chatting to some of the members of Mohill Community Network too, they were doing a brilliant job of tidying up the place. We hope to visit again, it’s a lovely town.

In other news I’ve been banned from Instagram and Threads for a week, and I have no idea why. Someone suggested that I’ve been tagging people too often and too quickly, but I really only tag Lucy on occasional posts, usually cat related. Someone suggested it’s because I post sponsored and paid content and that someone reported me. If you read the blog, you will know that I very rarely have sponsored or paid content and that if I do, I will always tell you. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’m not too worried about it.

The most popular post on the blog this week is The Lilliput Way in Roscommon. I’ve been sharing posts of places that people might like to visit during the school holidays, and this is a wonderful place. Well worth a visit: https://magnumlady.com/2024/02/14/the-lilliput-way-in-roscommon/

Everything else is grand. I’d hope to get to the Tubbercurry Old Fair Day on Wednesday, but there’s an appointment coming up, so I won’t get there. Hopefully the sun will shine and it’ll be a great day though.

Wishing you all a good week ahead.

  1. Instagram are under fire after last week’s Taoiseach death threats, also NI riots, they’ll be under govt regulation shortly. They’re trying to save face.

Westport is a beautiful town, some good craft gift shops there inc the Taylor Gallery. Did you climb Croagh Patrick?
