Introducing the Magnumlady Podcast!

You can listen to my first podcast here. If you don’t feel like listening, you can read the story behind it on this post:

I want to tell you a bit about why I decided to do a podcast. I know there are thousands, millions of podcasts out there and do you really need another one? But I suppose for me, I’ve had the blog for 15 years and it’s great and I love it and it gets a load of readers. But then I realised that not everybody has time to read posts, number one.

Number two, there are a lot of people out walking and running and driving and they might want to listen to something. I know, as I said, there are loads of them out there. But, I suppose as well, when I write about people, you can’t actually get the voice of the person when you’re reading. And I know sometimes that it’s very hard to pick up on a context when you’re reading words.

And that people’s stories best come from them, rather than from me trying to translate what I make of them. So, I suppose my podcast is going to be in two parts. The first part will just be me rambling on, probably about places that I’ve seen, but also about mental health and the challenges I’ve had, but also some ways how I’ve dealt with them.

I’ll probably keep them separate because I know not everybody wants to hear that about mental health, you might want to hear the stories about the people, and that’s going to be the second part of my podcast. I’m going to chat to really anyone and everyone, so if you meet me, don’t be surprised if I start recording you, but feel free to say no as well, because when I have an idea in my head, I’m like hell for leather going for it.

Another reason why the podcast started is that I saw MSL ETB were advertising a podcast for business course, and I signed up for it. I didn’t know what to expect. Keith Walsh, a DJ and a podcaster himself, is leading the course. He’s just brilliant. And he’s taught me so much. So, I’m really enjoyed the journey along the way.

We’re still, kind of midway through the course, but I’m so excited about getting the podcast out and seeing how it goes. I think with everything, there’s kind of a journey to it and there’s no end goal. So I’m going to see what works and what doesn’t. And if you’ve got any suggestions, feel free to just drop me a message.

If there’s anyone you’d like me to speak to. If there’s anyone out there listening who wants to have a chat with me, we all have a story to tell. And I’d love to be the platform that you use to tell your story to people. So thanks for listening. We’ll see how the podcast goes.
