The Queen Maeve Festival will take place in Sligo town on May 3rd -5th, 2024. The Stephen Street Carpark has been transformed into public space, and the festival is a celebration, hosted by Sligo County Council for the opening of Queen Maeve Square.

12pm Queen Maeve Trail Walking Tour
Join 𝗦𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 on the Queen Maeve Trail, Knocknarea, scheduled for Saturday 4th May 2024 starting at 12 noon. Start Point: Knocknarea Car Park (Original Path – Glen Road). Bring walking boots, waterproofs, mobile phone, water.

12 – 2pm. Join Medb’s Dragon Warriors for a Celebration of our Water. This isn’t part of the Queen Maeve Festival, but it’s a free event and is a lovely opportunity to find out more about our waterways. There will also be colouring for the children, and information on some of the organistions connected to the river.

Sunday 5th May

12 noon walk. Exploring Sligo’s Built Heritage with Seán Martin FRIAI, and recently retired Sligo County Council senior architect (fresh from his RTÉ Nationwide appearance) will conduct a walking tour of approximately 90min duration, examining the place of Sligo’s 19th century architecture.
The assembly point will be the Famine commemoration monument in Quay street car park at 12 noon on Sunday 5th May.
