The theme for this year’s Sligo St Patricks Day Parade has been announced!
The theme will be “The Wild Atlantic Way” and will celebrate 10 years of the Wild Atlantic Way and the Sligo connection.
Parade Chairperson, Finbarr Filan stated: “We are really excited to see how our entrants embrace this year’s theme. Sligo has become one of the key points on the Wild Atlantic Way and it has done so much to highlight Sligo’s offerings since it’s inception 10 years ago. We are hoping as many entrants as possible embrace the theme and highlight all Sligo has to offer”.
The parade will take place at midday on Sunday March 17th, 2024 and will feature a variety of musical performances, dance groups, and community organisations. Participants are encouraged to get creative with their costumes and floats, incorporating elements of the theme into their entry.

One of the highlights of last year’s festival, ‘The Trad Trail’ will return around the town over 3 nights. This will involve a full programme of traditional music events all around the town over the 3 days.

As always, there will be prizes for best entries in the parade itself, as well as best dressed person in the crowd and local businesses have the chance to win a prize for the ‘Best Dressed Window’.
