It’s my first blog post of 2024, so firstly a Happy New Year to all of you. My blog will be 15 years old next month! Time flies.

It’s been a great start to the new year, with my photos featuring on the ‘Welcome to Sligo’ sign at MacDiarmada Railway Station, aka Sligo Train Station. I’m very grateful to Brendan Tierney, Night Time Economy Advisor, from Sligo BID for asking me if I’d like to be part of the project.

I very rarely print any of my photos, so it’s lovely to see them in print and so that other people can see them too. Thanks also to Mary Connolly, the manager of the station.

If you are at Sligo Train Station you’ll see the sign at the platform. It’s worth visiting the station, as there are some really interesting pieces of memorabilia on display. MacDiarmada Railway Station dates back to the mid-1800s, and it’s an imposing sight as you come into Sligo town.
