It’s hard to believe that it’s the end of July, the year is fairly flying! The weather is absolutely shocking, I don’t think there has been a day this month where it hasn’t rained. I hope August is kinder, we shall wait and see.
The last couple of weeks have been busy, there have been a few appointments for family members, I always wish that I could go through things for them as I worry so much about them. Thankfully Jono finally got his pain management injections, it was over 4 years since the last ones, so it was long overdue. It was like a totally different set-up this time, he was seen in the day ward and the injections were done in theatre using ultrasound. Hopefully they’ll kick in soon and he’ll get some relief.

Our work team met up recently and we had a wonderful day, we had a trip on the electric boats in Carrick on Shannon and went from there to Leitrim Village. It was great fun and lovely to see everyone again. If you are looking for something different to do I’d really recommend this.

Dec Pierce from Today FM took his Block Rockin Beats show to Juniper Barn, Ballymote, Sligo yesterday. It was part of Lidl Ireland’s Block Rockin Summer and it was brilliant. It was free to attend and the tickets went almost as soon as they were announced on the radio. I’d forgotten how much I love to dance and I went on my own, so I just danced away. It’s was an amazing event and Dec is fantastic.

I’m working away at the Hands of Sligo project, I’ve met some really lovely people so far and it’s really done me good to go and chat to people. I’m very excited about this project and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you. You can read more about the project here. At the moment I think I will have enough volunteers, although I know some people will drop out so I’m still collecting names of people who would like to be involved, I’d like to get a few more men or couples joining in, so I’ll work on that.

Lucy came for a visit today and it was wonderful to see her. We went to Strandhill People’s Market and got lots of goodies, including sushi and ice cream, it’s always lovely to visit there – so many wonderful stalls and always a great atmosphere.
That’s all my news for now, I hope you are all keeping well.
