Honestly Amazing

Last month me and Jono were in Carrick on Shannon and we popped in to Honestly Kitchen for a bite to eat. The drive-thru organic restaurant opened last December and they are about simple food made with fantastic ingredients. They offer brunch, burgers, salads, and sandwiches plus desserts and coffee, and you can eat in or take away. Honestly serve organic Dexter beef and lamb from their own Drumanilra Farm. They also serve free range Irish chicken and pork as well as vegetarian, vegan, free-from and “organic kids” options.

I’d been there before for breakfast and really enjoyed it, this time we went for lunch, and it was so good. Even though it was really busy, the service was fast and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Jono had the chicken wings, and I had the Halloumi burger meal deal, which came with chips and a choice of drink. It was all lovely, the chips are something special, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside – and there were loads of them. The Halloumi burger was full of flavour, it was in a Brioche bun with pesto, caramelised onion and leaves from Drumanilra Farm, and I’d get it again.

They’ve recently launched a Winter menu, which sounds lovely (especially the loaded fries), and we are already planning our next visit. We also want to go to their new restaurant in Strandhill, I’ve been in to buy some bits from the farm shop but I haven’t eaten in there yet.

I’m now really hungry writing this blog post, and I’m looking forward to our return visit. Check out Honestly Kitchen online here: https://honestlykitchen.ie/

This is not a sponsored post, we paid for our food.
