Sunday Thoughts

Another Sunday has rolled around, and what a rollercoaster of a week it has been. I wrote a post some time ago about Wildlife West Rescue naming an orphaned fox after me, this week it was time for Val the Vixen to be released back into the wild and I was asked to go along. It was a very moving experience to open the crate and see Val head off to her new life. I hope she’ll live a very long and happy one, and I’m very grateful to Elaine and Alex for letting me be part of this.

My first ever exhibition of paintings is up in SG Art Shop in Carraroe, Sligo. I have serious imposter syndrome, I’m not worthy etc. but if any of the painting are sold I’ll be donating money to Feral Cats Sligo. This is a wonderful group that are doing so much work, and like so many others they rely on donations. I hope I raise a few bob for them with the exhibitions.

I have to say a massive thanks to Gerry and all at SG for being so helpful, and making the exhibition as stress free as possible for me. I really appreciate all their help and support.

The big thing is that although I don’t feel like my art should be in an exhibition when there are so many talented artists out there, at least I did it, and that’s a massive achievement in itself. Especially when I look back and see how far I’ve come. Seeing the paintings on the walls just made my day, and I even like some of them too 🙂

During the week on twitter I noticed the Love Donegal day, everyone was sharing their lovely photos of the county and I started wondering why there wasn’t a Love Sligo day. I decided that Friday would be the Love Sligo day, and I really didn’t know if anyone would join in or if it would just be me posting. It turned out to be a massive success, the hashtag was trending on twitter for over 24 hours, and it was great to see all the beautiful images. In my wisdom I’ve decided that Friday the 27th will be a Love Leitrim day, so we’ll see how that goes.

I was asked to run something similar on other Social Media platforms but it’s a lot of work for one person, so I’ll stick to twitter for now. I had square eyes at the end of it!

So that was my week, and what a week it was.
