Sligo Reopens

It’s been a long five months of restrictions but today all non-essential shops in Ireland were allowed to reopen. I’m not a shopper but I’ve really missed the charity shops and also Liber book shop, so it was lovely to see open doors – and I’m sure smiling faces under the masks. The buzz of the town is starting to come back and I know so many people who have missed just having a look around the shops. I love the message from Liber, so touching and certainly made me smile.

It’s also a great place to meet people, I met a friend in one of the shops and we had a little chat and then I’m bumped into another friend and she invited me for a socially distanced coffee – which was just wonderful. A little bit of normal after a long time of not really seeing anyone.

More people seem to be getting vaccinated and two days after mine I’m still grand except for a sore arm but that’s nothing. There finally seems like a light at the end of the tunnel….at last.
