When We Travel Again – The Limerick Edition

A few years ago we went to Limerick for a weekend break. I love being a tourist in Ireland and just going exploring, Limerick is a vibrant, colourful, diverse city. With something to see on every street and a friendly face to greet you.

The River Shannon runs through the city and it’s well worth walking along it and crossing the three bridges. The medieval quarter is something special and I enjoyed my time walking around there.

The Milk Market is just brilliant. A busy, bustling place, full of food, crafts, music and laughter. This is how a market should be and again I was struck by the friendliness of the people.

I loved the Georgian Doors, the People’s Park, the grounds of the University of Limerick, the old mixed with the new.

I also loved the street art, there’s something to see on every street. There are also some really quirky shops, including a second hand shop located down a little alleyway.

Limerick is a great place to visit, bring your walking shoes and explore the lanes, you never know what you’ll see.
