Bookmart Sligo

Sligo is a real gem when it comes to independent shops, the Bookmart is just one of them. I love book shops and this is no exception.

They have recently moved to a new shop on Bridge Street, next to the Gourmet Parlour – books and cake – sure what more could you want? I was chatting to Donal and he was telling me he thinks they have around 20,000 books in the shop. Some are new, some used and some rare.

Not only is the Bookmart a book shop but they produce a quarterly arts magazine featuring poetry, prose, photography and art. They are also home to the Click Clack writers group, I’m told this is a great group, very friendly and encouraging.
