Back in November I entered a competition from Look West.ie They were asking for photo’s from Roscommon. I entered the photo above which is one of the ‘Boyle’ donkeys. These guys live beside the forest park and as you drive passed they look over the wall 🙂 So I have to stop and say hello. I think this guy looks like donkey from Shrek 😉
I was delighted when I heard I had won. The competition was sponsored by Castlemine Farm. The Allen brothers have reinvented the ‘Farming By Hand’ concept which is the essence of the Castlemine Farm Brand. Anyway the hamper arrived today and it was fantastic:
We had crackers and chutney for lunch. Half the jar of chutney has gone already! This evening we had steak. It really was the nicest steak we’ve ever had. I think I shall be making a trip out to Castlemine in the near future. They also have an online shop. If you get a chance check them out.

Well done Val! What a gorgeous donkey. He looks so lovable, I’m overcome by the urge to stroke his nose LOL! And what a lovely hamper. Is that garlic mayo I spot at the back? Yum! I was trying to work out what’s in the little red bottle.
