Lucy made me a lovely cake yesterday for my birthday….it was an early birthday cake….jam and cream and it was lovely. Lucy is a very good cook, so my days in the kitchen may be numbered 😀
We had to light the candles three times though so we could all blow them out ;)…Luckily there weren’t 41 candles or I would have needed the kiss of life.
Its mid-term here this week, or half term it whatever its called so the kids are off for the week…woohoo. Lucy came into town shopping with me today. We were up early so we had our brekkie in town: one scone, one crossaint and a coffee….7 quid, rip off Ireland is alive and well in Sligo. Lucy was cutting the crusts off the croissant…how can a croissant have crusts?? Answers on a postcard please. While we were in the cafe a rather large lady came in wearing a velour tracksuit in a rather fetching shade of ‘barbie pink’…now I’m not too small myself but there’s no way I would wear a pink trakkie. She was tucking in to a huge roll and plate of coleslaw all washed down with a diet coke…and it was before 10am!
We spotted this bit of graffiti near the cafe…Lucy was trying to look the same as it….and succeeding quite well I think 😉
I didn’t get much from town, its like shopping with a magpie….we have to look at anything shiny. I did get herself a pair of trainers, half price in the sales and managed not to get her a diamonte computer mouse….what will they think of next??

Val, many happy returns, wonderful age 41, seems like a long time ago for me, LOL
hopefully many years in happiness and health, and pictures to prove it
