I’m a big fan of Christmas sandwiches, and some of the Sligo businesses are serving lovely ones, and not just sandwiches, there are some loads fries, and more on offer. I put a call out on my social media channels, not too many of the businesses got back to me, but a few readers did, and here are the suggestions, plus some that I spotted too.
Tank & Skinny’s are serving a selection of Festive specials, and there’s one for vegetarians too (which sounds amazing!) A special mention for them because they gave me their Christmas Club Sandwich to try (pictured above), and it was fabulous. You can read all the details below:





Pink Clover in Drumcliffe have a Festive Focaccia – they make their own bread too (and it’s amazing). Succulent Irish Turkey, The finest Irish Ham, Apricot & Cranberry Stuffing, Melted Brie Cheese, Dressed Leaves, Spiced Cranberry Mayonnaise
Tempo in Ballisodare have two Christmas special sandwiches: The Hambo: Wholegrain mustard and honey glazed ham, smoked fig and plum chutney, melted Brie, Dijon mayo, served with organic greens and roast potatoes.
The Turkey Toastie: Roasted turkey, Brussels sprout and pomegranate slaw, cranberry mayo, blue cheese, sausage meat and bacon stuffing on sourdough with duck fat roast potatoes and gravy.
Waxies have a Christmas Sandwich, packed with turkey, ham and stuffing and served with gravy. See it on their Instagram page above
The Glasshouse Hotel are serving a Christmas bap. It came up on an Instagram story, and it looks amazing.

The Brasserie, The Canopy Shopping Centre Sligo: Christmas Sandwich – Roast turkey & ham, House-made sausage stuffing, Spiced red cabbage, Brussel sprout slaw, Cranberry mayo, Finished with a snowfall of parmesan, And rich cranberry gravy on the side for dipping glory!
Tósta, Bridge Street, Sligo: Christmas Special – Tender Turkey, Slow-cooked Pulled Ham Creamy Brie Cheese, Cranberry Mayo, Tósta signature homemade gravy.
WBs Coffee House, Stephen Street, Sligo: Christmas sandwich – Turkey, Stuffing, Home Glazed Ham, Homemade Cranberry Jam & Mayo on Sourdough Bread
The Jam Pot, Grange: Festive Toasty – Burn’s Meats Turkey crown, Feeney’s ham, homemade stuffing and cranberry chutney topped with melted creamy Brie.
Hooked Sligo: Christmas Sandwich – Roast Feeney’s ham, Roast Sherlock’s chicken, sage and onion stuffing, brie, brussels sprout and walnut slaw and gravy.
O’Brien’s Sandwich Bar: Triple Deluxe and Festive Wrap are back and stacked with all the flavours that make it feel like Christmas: turkey, brie, stuffing and cranberry.

Not all sandwiches have to be savoury. If you fancy something sweet, head to Mc G Cakes on Grattan Street, Sligo. They have amazing cookie sandwiches, including Kinder Bueno ones.
