Halloween in Enniskillen

When it comes to Halloween, Enniskillen puts on a wonderful event. It’s suitable for all ages, and it’s free. We headed up in the mid-afternoon, but sadly most of my favourite shops closed at 5pm, so I missed out on shopping in them. I was hoping it would be late night opening as it was Friday.

I did get to Enniskinn, the Gourmet Grocer, and also to Marks and Spencer and Asda though.

It was lovely to see so many people dressed up, including many of the adults. All the fun was happening down by Enniskillen Castle, DJ Bob had everyone singing and dancing, and there were lots of food stalls, and a giant Pumpkin, which was quite freaky!

There was a private event going on in the castle, so I couldn’t go inside. It looked like fun though. I stood on the bridge and waited for the fireworks to begin. It’s a great place to view them, as you can see the reflections on the river. The display went on for 25 minutes and just as it finished it started to rain.

We had to wait for almost an hour to get out of car park, and it wasn’t a nice drive in the lashing rain and on the flooded roads. I’m starting to think that I’m getting too old for events like this, even though I loved seeing it.

Well done to all involved, it’s so nice to see something free, for everyone to enjoy.
