If you visited Strandhill People’s Market, and the Farmer’s Market at the ATU Sligo, you might remember Antonio. The great news is that he opened a cafe in Sligo town recently.

I called in for a coffee today, and although Antonio wasn’t there (pic above that I took at Strandhill), I met Roisin and Jane, and I had a look at the fabulous cakes.

There’s great news for those of you who have a gluten intolerance, as all the cakes in the photos above are gluten-free, including the Tiramisu. The chocolate one is amazing (I speak from experience!) They also have dairy-free options.

There is also a wide range of cakes and pastries that aren’t gluten-free, and you can enjoy smoothies and coffees. Roisin tells me that they also serve soup and toasties.

Sillan Bakes is bright and airy, with seating inside and outside. They are at 10 The Mall, Sligo, opposite The Model, Sligo. Open Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm.
