I’m a big fan of O’Hara’s of Foxford, their cakes are just gorgeous – and if you follow the blog, you’ll know I’m a big fan of cake! So, I was delighted when they opened a café in Ballina just before Christmas.

I finally got there yesterday, I’m always early so it was just the breakfast menu on offer, I would have loved to try the French Toast, but that served as brunch, and I’m not sure what time that menu starts. It was all good though, as they have the most amazing Cruffins – a croissant/muffin. I had a Ferrero Rocher one, which was incredible, packed with chocolate and fresh cream, and delicious. I also had a hot chocolate (and was buzzing afterwards!)

I spotted the person at the table next to me getting a pizza, and it looked amazing. That’s the plan for the next time I visit!
The staff are friendly and welcoming, and if you don’t fancy sitting in there’s a takeaway hatch. There’s also seating outside if you have your four-legged friend with you.

Baker51 is open Tue-Sat: Hatch 8-4, Sit-in 9-3:45 | Sun: Hatch 9:30-3. They are based on Market Lane, Ballina, Mayo, Ireland F26 P6E8.
A special thanks to the two lovely ladies who left me a tip for my birthday. It paid for my trip to Ballina, and my visit to Baker51.
