Meet Humphrey – My ‘donkey’

I love donkeys, well I love all animals, and when I saw that Humphrey from the The Sathya Sai Sanctuary was looking for someone to adopt him, I knew that person was me. I don’t actually get to own him, it’s the Adopt-a-Donkey Scheme, and a minimum payment of €20 a year is recommended. It’s a great way to help the sanctuary, and you can find out more here: https://donkeys.ie/html/help.htm I received my certificate today – this would also be a wonderful gift idea. I can’t wait until the sanctuary opens again and I can meet Humphrey.

The Sanctuary was was founded in 1991 as a rest home for donkeys and ponies. Sue and her team do an incredible job.

They have a fantastic raffle running, with some amazing prices and you can buy tickets here. Ticket sales end on December 19th at 6pm.

The sanctuary is open to visitors every weekend from – 1st April to 31st October, including Bank Holidays. If you’d like to visit on a weekday you can contact the sanctuary first to make arrangements. You can bring ginger nut biscuits and carrots for the donkeys and you can leave a donation to help Sue and her team of volunteers keep up their wonderful work.
