It’s time for me to tell you about another wonderful Irish made product. Blakes Always Organic was founded in 2012 and is based in The Food Hub in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim. In this blog post I’m going to tell you about their wonderful kefir.
Blakes Organic Kefir is a probiotic health drink for gut revitalisation made with whole organic milk. In 2016 the company started producing batches of kefir in a small 20 litre Bain Marie, which they bottled and labelled by hand. The company now produces thousands of litres of their award-winning product.
Blakes Always Organic recently launched a range of flavoured kefir; Blueberry, Strawberry, and Blackcurrant & Lemon. The new flavours are already proving to be a big hit, with the Blueberry Kefir winning a gold medal at the Blas na hEireann and a bronze for the Strawberry Kefir.
I bought the blackcurrant and lemon flavour from my local SuperValu and it’s delicious. I can’t wait to try the other flavours too. You can find Blakes Always Organic Kefir in selected SuperValu and Centra stores, or you buy online.
