A Day at Hillside Holistic Farm in Roscommon

I’m very lucky to work at Momentum, I don’t see my colleagues very often because I work from home, but we have wonderful meet ups a couple of times a year, and our summer team building event was held at Hillside Holistic Farm in Roscommon. It was a perfect Irish summer day – lashing rain and high winds, followed by heat, I think at one point the sun might have even made an appearance.

We were welcomed by the wonderful Helen, who had the kettle boiled and the scones fresh out of the oven, and a selection of fruit – the perfect Irish welcome. We sat on the patio and had the chats, while some of our crew were in a meeting on site.

When the meeting was over Sean took us on a tour of his organic farm, and told us about his work, and his farming practices. Sean handed out gloves and sticks and our team set about clearing some of the forest, I mostly took photos, and marvelled at the wildlife around us.

I spoke to Sean on my podcast (listen here), he told me about his farm, how important social farming is to him, and about his energy healing work. You see Sean isn’t only a farmer, he is also a healer. Sean explains “My mission is to help people to find peace with themselves as individuals, collectively and with all life on earth so that we can repair our broken thread in the web of life.” You can find out more about Sean’s work here. And you can also book Sean for distance healing, so it doesn’t matter where you are in the world, in fact Sean was telling me that distance healing sometimes works better.

It was so lovely spending time on the farm, such a wonderful way to recharge the batteries and meet up with my colleagues again. Thanks to Paula from our team for organising it, and to Orla for being so wonderful, and Helen and Sean for their hospitality.

If your work team is looking for a team building day, I’d really recommend it.

  1. On my, well, walking turf, that day, I live in South Ros! Also Funke’s restaurant in Sligo may now have become my fave eatery, anywhere 🙂 The Caribbean curry with spice is amazing.
