One of my favourite hobbies is afternoon tea. I absolutely love it, you get to enjoy a little bit of everything, and each afternoon tea is a different experience. I was delighted that my friend Treasures Forever By Ann, invited me along to Castle Dargan for afternoon tea to celebrate the launch of my podcast.

The weather was awful; lashing rain, and a big change from the beautiful sunny weather that we’d had, but we were invited to sit in The Coach House Lounge, beside a lovely open fire. The lounge was originally the stables for Castle Dargan House, it’s now bright and airy, with high ceilings and comfortable couches.

The afternoon tea was gorgeous, and I was particularly impressed that we there was one of everything for each of us. Some afternoon teas just serve one of each cake, and as they are small, it’s hard to cut them in half to share them.

The savoury selection consisted of smoked salmon bagels, egg and chilli vol-au-vents, chicken and pesto wraps, and ham and cheese sandwiches.

The sweet selection included macarons, meringues, chocolates, scones, chocolate eclairs, chia seed puddings, brownies, shortbread biscuits, and scones. We had a huge pot of tea to go along with it.
All was all delicious, but if I had to pick my favourite things, it would be the chocolate brownie, it was full of walnuts and was gorgeous, I also loved the shortbread biscuits, they just melted in the mouth.
It was such a perfect way to spend an afternoon, wonderful company, fantastic food, and a beautiful setting. Thanks to much to Ann for inviting me along, I loved it!
