Troll Wood in Leitrim

If you are looking for a walk with a difference, I’d recommend Troll Wood in Leitrim, also known as Cartron Wood. It’s great fun for all ages, and it’s only around 1.2km, so it’s not a long walk.

Troll Wood

I love anything a little bit different, and this wood is just that, and great for the imagination of the young, and the young at heart.

Under the bridge

Troll Wood is a beautiful forest walk just past Parkes Castle. I did wonder if I was in the right place for a while until I came to the wooden bridge and the signs warning of a troll!

Beware of the Troll

I didn’t see a troll this time but maybe I will when I go back again. It’s well worth a visit just be aware the walk is quite steep in places and don’t do what I did and try to follow the river stick to the pathway instead. It was quite fun sliding down the hill though 🙂
