If you follow the blog you’ll know that I’m a big fan of Afternoon Tea, well, I’m a fan of cake in general to be honest, so I was delighted to see another place in Sligo serving it. From The Ground Up 2020 recently launched their afternoon tea offering, I had to book it, so I could check it out and let you know all about it.
From The Ground Up 2020 is a really busy spot, in the heart of Tubbercurry town. They serve breakfast, lunch and brunch, and they also have a grab and go fridge, takeaway coffee and some lovely food products.
There’s a lovely outdoor area and that’s where I had my afternoon tea, I enjoyed sitting out there listening to the birds singing. The afternoon tea consisted of a selection of dainty sandwiches and wraps, including egg mayonaise, chicken, ham, cucumber, and Mozzeralla and pesto. The sweet selection included scones (the one with lemon curd was amazing), a cream slice – my favourite, cheesecake and macarons. I couldn’t eat everything, so I got it to takeaway and enjoy at home.
