Sunday Thoughts

It’s the first Sunday of 2024, and so it’s the first Sunday Thoughts post of the year. Happy New Year to all of you, I just had a look at the blog stats for 2023, and it had over 107,000 views, which is the highest number since the blog began! Thanks to all of you for reading it.

It’s a very cold day here in Sligo, it’s -2°C outside and it’s almost 10am as I type this. I went out for a walk this morning, it was lovely. Such a peaceful start to the morning watching the sunrise and the mist hovering over the fields. Listening to the crunch of my feet on the gravel and the birds singing. I’ll share some of the photos I took on my walk.

I always think when I’m out walking, I was thinking about how much I enjoy conversations with people and finding out about their lives. I really enjoyed chatting to the Hands of Sligo volunteers and I enjoyed chatting to Kylie from Sligo Childrens Community Garden for work. I’d like to record more conversations this year, I’m not sure how I’d go about it, but the idea is there anyway and I’ll see if it comes to anything.

This week was very stressful, there was something looming for months, and after several cancellations it finally got sorted, thankfully. It was such a worry, especially wondering if it would be cancelled again, but I’m so glad that it’s been done now. One thing is for sure, family and health are the most important things in life.

I wish you all a good week, and year ahead. Thanks, as always for reading.
