Sunday Thoughts

Another Sunday is upon us, the year is flying. It seems like July and August have gone in the blink of an eye, and I’m already seeing events being advertised for Christmas!

It was a calmer week this week, with no major appointments – phew. It was a week to catch my breath and catch up on things. I met up with some friends for coffee and that was lovely, I don’t have many close friends but I’m very grateful for the ones I have. They understand that I can be strange, that I don’t like hugs, that I have moments where I’m very quiet. It’s nice to just be me and not have to explain things.

I’ve had a few conversations this week and it’s made me realise that there are so many people who are similar to me. They might overthink things and think they aren’t good enough and I can totally relate to that. It’s brilliant being able to talk about these things and to realise that I’m not alone.

I went to Belfast with Jono yesterday for the model railway exhibition, it was wonderful to be able to do it and I’m grateful that he had his pain management injections last month, otherwise this might not have happened. The exhibition was great and everyone was so friendly. On the way home we found a service station with a Greggs – the excitement was real! Greggs is a UK bakery, for those who don’t know, and it’s years since I’m been to one.

Another exciting thing this week was that a local company asked me if I’d be an ambassador for them. This is the first time I’ve ever been asked to be an ambassador for anything, and I was so touched. Watch this space to see what happens.

A few weeks ago I was asked to be an for an Irish company, what this means is that I would share products I like and if people order via the link I would get a small percentage of the sale. I declined because I’m not a customer of the company and it’s very important for me to promote companies that I can vouch for, I have to be authentic for my readers. The downside is that the blog continues to cost me money (the domian, the storage space, etc. ), but maybe someone reading this might be interested if me being an affiliate, or sponsor. It was suggested that I start a patreon where people subscribe to the blog, but I don’t think that’s fair to people who can’t afford it. I did set up a Ko-fi account and two people kindly left me a tip, so that was lovely: https://ko-fi.com/magnumlady

The Hands of Sligo project is going well, I will write separate blog posts about that, it’s a real rollercoaster of emotions – something that maybe I wasn’t expecting, but it’s very thought-provoking.

I hope you are all having a good week, whatever you are doing.
