Well that was a bit of a week to say the least! A real mixed bag of everything, so I’ll fill you in here.

Last Sunday night was the finale of the Cairde Arts Festival, I didn’t get to much of it this time around – crowds, evenings, people – you know what I’m like. I did go to the LUXE parade in Sligo town though, I’m fascinated by lights and although I’m usually in bed at 10pm I was Cinderella for one night only. It was incredible, I’m so glad I went – even though I felt like I’d been hit by a truck the next day and I didn’t even stay until the end!

Himself ended up in A and E on Friday, he’d been to see he doctor about his chest pains that he’s been having for months, but because of a previous blood clot on his lungs they sent him to hospital. It was so much better than the previous visit – read about that here. In and out in four hours and all tests clear, thankfully. They will refer him for more tests, but fingers crossed it’s nothing to worry about.

I applied for an art project and I’m delighted that I got approved. The ‘Hands of Sligo Project’ will be part of the Creativity in Older Age project run by Sligo County Council, Healthy Sligo, supported by the Creative Ireland Fund 2023. I’ve put a call out for volunteers aged 65+ and I’ve had a great response so far, watch this space for updates.
It’s funny how a new project has come along when I said goodbye to something I’d previously been working on. It’s right what they say, close one door and another will open.
I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying the Julember weather! Hopefully the rain might stop soon.
