Sunday Thoughts

It’s over a month since I wrote a Sunday Thoughts blog post, and what a busy month it’s been! Jono turned 30 and we celebrated with a takeaway from Honestly Kitchen. A few days later it was Andy’s birthday and our wedding anniversary and the lads like the food from Honestly Kitchen so much that we went there for dinner.

The ‘proper’ camera came out of retirement to cover Street Feast, I’d forgotten how much work taking photos of events is. It’s not just the event itself, it’s the editing time afterwards. It was lovely to meet some people though and have the chats. The camera is firmly back in the bag now though.

The weather has been a bit all over the place, lovely sunny days, but thunder storms and heavy rain, hence why the garden looks like a jungle at the moment. The upside of that is that there are wild orchids growing there and it’s so lovely to see them – and it’s great for the bees. The downside is that one minute it’s sunny and the next lashing, I got drenched walking the dog this morning.

There are a lot of things coming up in the next few weeks, and some things up in the air. I’m doing my trick of compartmentalising things. I visualise my head full of little boxes and I only open the one I need to deal with at the time. It probably sounds strange but it really stops me being overwhelmed and I find it a great coping mechanism.

I’m still painting, not as much a I did before. I’ve a couple of paintings on hold and I feel like until they are gone I’m a bit stuck. Hopefully they’ll be gone soon, they are both big paintings and are taking up space.

Twitter died yesterday, it seems to be just certain accounts that tweet too much, or read too many tweets – as it’s my second home that was me. I have a feeling it’s to make people pay to use the platform, it hasn’t been the same since a certain person took over. I really hope it doesn’t go for good.

Anyway that’s my update for now. I hope you are all keeping well and thanks for reading.
