Sunday Thoughts

It’s been a busy week so it’s lovely to have a day of doing nothing, except maybe cutting the grass if the weather stays dry. I’m looking at dark clouds though, the weather people have been telling us about this amazing weather, but it doesn’t seem to have reached the North West just yet.

I’ve had some interesting chats this week, plenty of things to think about – like I need more! The main thing is that I’d loved to see more positivity in general, I look at the local news pages and there is so much doom and gloom, which creates a pile-on of negative comments. If we all took a moment to focus on the good things and promote the great things that we have in County Sligo, I think it would be much better.

I’ve started a new Facebook page to share events and positive things about Sligo, this was because I’m asked to share so much on the blog and I’m aware that my readers don’t want to see all events. Anyway, you can find the new page here: https://www.facebook.com/heartofsligo The Heart of Sligo Facebook group is still going strong, there are a lot of people sharing their photos there and we welcome them all: https://www.facebook.com/groups/629377254754950

Me and Jono took a quick spin to Enniskillen the other day, it’s been ages since we’ve been, and there’s a great model shop that Jono loves to visit for his model railway bits, so we went there. We also had a look around Asda and I’m really quite shocked at how expensive things are there now. There was a time when the place would be wedged with Sligo cars, but not this time around. I think we have much better value here now.

On the way home we broke up the journey with a stop in Belcoo and had lunch in The Customs House, it was really lovely. Great food and a fast, friendly service. Well worth a visit if you are passing.

So, that’s a bit of a catch up from me, I hope you are all keeping well and thanks for reading.
