Lady Gaga

Well it’s been a great weekend. On Friday we went up to Dublin for Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball.

Lucy is a massive Lady Gaga fan and the ticket was her birthday present. I went along just for the hell of it 😉

We had standing tickets and we were lucky to get quite near the front. I had Jono’s little panasonic camera with me and I’m really quite pleased with the results. There are more photos on flickr.

The show started at 7pm when Lady Starlight took to the stage. She is a DJ and came on stage swigging out of a bottle and headbanging. It was funny for the first couple of minutes and then the novelty wore off. To be honest she reminded me of me (not the whisky) but the mum dancing.

The next band were Semi Precious Weapons. They were loud but I thought they were good. Very funny. There was a young girl in front of me who looked like a mini Taylor Swift, she was tutting and shaking her head all the way through it.

Then after a short break came Lady Gaga herself. She was amazing. She doesn’t just stand there and sing she puts on a whole show with loads of costume and set changes and some really amazing backing dancers.

A couple of people in front of me had to leave because it was very hot. I’ll never understand people that bring big rucksacks and handbags into a standing concert, that just makes matters worse. I was also surprised at the amount of very young children there. To my mind it’s not a child friendly show.

Fair play to Lady Gaga though, she really is something else. There is a short bit video from the start:
