We were delighted to be invited to Úna Bhán Tourism in Boyle for their St. Brigid’s Day Festival – Celebrating the Creativity of Women. I was amazed at how many people came along. It has been such a strange week with so many people without electricity, or just back on, and I thought people might be catching up on washing.

It was good that I wasn’t expecting many people to attend, because I didn’t worry about it. I actually surprised myself at how comfortable I felt talking to everyone. I spoke about the blog, and my photography, and showed some of my favourite photos. I also spoke about the Hands of Sligo project, and what a privilege it was to be involved in it.
Louise read some of her beautiful poems, and there was great interest in the writing workshops that she runs. You can contact Louise via her blog, to find out more. We also spoke about our book, and how the idea came about, and how we chose to self publish the book.
I spoke about my mental health struggles, and told people about some of the things that I found useful, including the Havin’aLaugh charity. A special thank you to Anastasiia for taking the photos, and for asking us to be a part of such a lovely event.
