Firstly, I’d like to thank all of you who sent messages about Rocket-dog, the house is very quiet these days, especially in the morning, when my first job of the day was to walk him and give him his breakfast. He really was a member of our family and not ‘just a dog’ and he’s left a huge void. We still feel him around us, and there have been so many times where a piece of food has dropped on the floor, and we think Rocket will eat it….

I have to say a huge thank you to Erin for sending me this beautiful suncatcher, it was so appreciated and such a thoughtful thing to do. Erin is one of the good people that you find along the way and I’m very grateful to her.

It’s hard to adjust to this new normal, luckily work has been busy, so I’ve thrown myself into that. I also took myself up to Enniskillen for a change of scenery and it did me the world of good just having a wander around. Not that I bought anything, there really isn’t much value there these days, but it’s a lovely town and well worth a visit.
As it’s coming close to Christmas there have been a few people who have wanted to meet up with me, in my case misery doesn’t love company so I’ve been keeping myself to myself. There was an impromptu meet-up with one of my oldest friends this week as I happened to be in town. It was very much needed and I’m very grateful to her for checking in with me.
There are a couple of things looming at the moment, and I’m hoping all will go well. I’m not a praying person, but I am thinking positive thoughts. It’s a worry though, for all of us, especially as these things should have been resolved weeks ago. Everything crossed, and there will be a huge sigh of relief if things work out.
There’s a storm happening as I write this post, nowhere near as bad as last Sunday, but it’s still fairly wild out. I don’t know if you saw the tornado in Leitrim Village last week, it was honestly like something you’d see in a movie, and it’s a miracle that no one was seriously hurt.
As I listen to the high winds I’m thinking of Mark from work, he’s taking part in the World’s Toughest Row across the Atlantic, and I can’t begin to imagine how difficult it is. He’s part of a team of four, and they are rowing 4800km, non-stop across the Ocean. Find out more about the team and the challenge on their website. You can also track the race here. Best of luck to Mark and his team.
Thanks to you all for reading this post, I hope you are all keeping well.
