Slow Roast has been on my list of places to visit for a long time and I finally got to the Athlone shop during the week. This is an award-winning independent sandwich and coffee shop and it’s wonderful! They do gorgeous grilled sandwiches, choose from: The Sunday Roast, Hang and Cheese, Aragh Musha and Cheese Please.
I had the Cheese Please and the cheese was oozing out of it, absolutely delicious. The staff are lovely, very friendly and welcoming, everything is takeaway, so it’s perfect for a picnic – if you can resist eating it before you arrive at your destination.
Baby Yoda is another highlight, he’s the star of the Slow Roast social media pages, and he sits on the shelf watching the toasties fly out the door. Keep up the good work Slow Roast.
