Sligo Walks and Events in Memory of Ashling Murphy

There are a number of walks and events taking place in memory of Ashling Murphy and other victims. I’ve done a round up of the ones I’ve seen.

Friday 14th

Sweetbeat Cafe are donating all takings from tea and coffee sales today to @Womens_Aid
Vigil in Enniscrone. 6pm at the pier.
Tubbercurry. 7 – 8.30pm from The Square out to St. Attractas and back. All hot drinks are at From The Ground Up 2020 are complimentary. Donation bucket in store and all donations going to Women’s Aid.

Saturday 15th
Grange. Run or walk. 4pm at the playground. Bring a candle.
Strandhill 5km walk/run 4pm. Meet at the Main Carpark at 3.45pm
Ballymote (Corran AC) run/walk a few km at 4:00pm in solidarity against this type of violence against women.
Ballinalack Community Park 4PM
Vigil 4pm in Coolaney Community Park
Collooney Candlelight Vigil. Fairgreen 5pm

Sunday 16th

Doorly Park 4pm. Walk against violence against women. Westeroastcoffee, Cleveragh are donating money from teas and coffees served during the walk to DVAS – Domestic Violence Advocacy Service

25th January

IT Sligo 1pm. A silent walk to remember Ashling and in solidarity with all women during this devastating additional pandemic- gender violence.

    There are so many more. I’ll be virtually walking along in one of those…all of those if that were possible..
    Am sure you will be joining one, so i hope you don’t mind me going with you.
