Focus on Artists – Catherine Mc Gagh

I first discovered Catherine’s work when she had an exhibition, alongside Marie Evans, in the Solas Art Gallery in Leitrim. The exhibition was online and was just beautiful; ‘Merlin’s Healing Beech Tree, the Art of Soul Retrieval’ – ‘An exhibition of paintings with audio about a healing journey through art and simple but profound words. It is dedicated to all who bravely search for their lost innocence and all the nature and animal spirits who gently call us home.’

I met Catherine in person when our paths crossed at The Weir Gallery, Sligo, it was wonderful to see her art work in real life.

Catherine is a yoga teacher & self-taught visual  artist living in Kinlough,Co.Leitrim. She paints & draws using mainly oils on canvas & charcoal on paper. Most of her paintings are inspired by feelings experienced, nature & soul journeys.
