Welcome to the Roscommon Gift Guide, this was a harder one to compile, but thanks to Sharon from Women’s Inspire and her contact Lucy, I got a great response in the end. All the listings have websites so that you can buy online and I hope that you enjoy reading this as much as I’ve enjoyed finding out about all these wonderful shops, services, artists, and creators.

Ellen Susan Igoe is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in the West of Ireland. She works with many different mediums and you can find her website with prints, cards and original art here:

Eternal Gift Shop, Elphin. It’s a small quirky gift shop and Mary’s philosophy has always been to support and promote Irish artists and crafters and jewellery makers. Mary will also find you the perfect gift. “I don’t love it because I sell it, I sell it because I love it“. Shop here:

Hullabaloo have a range of DIY Craft kits including a range of Jewellery Making Kits, T-Shirt and Bag Design, Decoupage and Flower Crown.  They have options for ages 5 and upwards.

Black Donkey Brewing is Roscommon’s only commercial brewery, brewing award winning craft beers in Ballinlough since 2014.  They ship nationwide, and they have a variety of beers and gift items like t-shirts, branded glasses and beer gift packs.

Rathcroghan Visitor Centre has an online gift shop specialising in history and heritage books but also selling selected gifts and Rathcroghan merchandise. If you call to Rathcroghan go on the tour, you’ll love it.

CycleUp, is a Upcycling Textiles Training Social Enterprise and we train participants to upcycle unwanted textiles into beautiful homeware, giftware and fashion items. We are a county wide project and we sell many of our items on our e-store We have some lovely festive items there at the moment with more being added by the day.

Bog Buddies are a small family business based in Knockcroghery and create beautiful handmade and customized framed gifts from real Irish bog. Their online shop is

Boyle Craft Shop are proud supporters of local crafts, authors, musicians and artists. Beautiful handcrafted personalised frames and cards are also made in store and are a perfect gift for that special occasion. For all the Moone Boy fans there is a wide range of merchandise including the famous hand knitted Moone Boy hat!

Hazelrocks Jewellery is based in Keadue in Co Roscommon. ‘I make jewellery to bring joy to your day. I use ethically mined/sourced genuine gemstones from around the world whenever possible. I love to weave, curl and swirl wire to fashion unique pendants and jewellery.’

Benny’s Deli in Castlerea have a great website, with hampers delivered nationwide so you can send a taste of Roscommon all over Ireland. Check out Cloonconra Cheese produced in Rosommon and available in Benny’s too

Happy Goat Soap (technically Mayo but very close to Roscommon). ‘I started to make Soap because I always had problems with my skin , I had eczema and I could not use any normal soap as a child. Only the medicated plain stuff. All the other children had these colourful soaps but I couldn’t have them. And when I started to make Goats milk soap I wanted to make colourful and beautiful soap. So that people with sensitive skin can have nice looking and smelling soap as well.’

Frances Crowe is an artist based in Roscommon, she explores the personal landscape of emotion and memory in her tapestries. Recording world events for posterity. Displacement, separation, climate change and global warming are a constant theme in her most recent body of work. Shop here:

Siobhan Cox-Carlos is a painter, known for her use of vibrant colour and love of texture and pattern. She was awarded an honours degree from Limerick College of Art & Design. Siobhan has a wide range of paintings and prints which start at €35. You can also buy gift vouchers or commission a painting and can work to a specific size, colour and budget.
