A sweet competition!

I have a competition for my lovely readers to celebrate the blog having over 100,000 page views and to say a huge thank you to you all for visiting. It’s also to celebrate the blog getting into the final of the best personal blog in the Blog Awards Ireland even though it didn’t win.

I have not one….not two…..not three….but four competitions!! The first one is the jar of sweets above which is a huge jar of Vanilla Candysticks kindly given to me by Cyril from The Sweet Shop in The Quayside, Sligo. He has a huge range of sweets as you will see from the photo at the top of this post. He also stocks Wonka candy so well worth a visit (and tell him I sent you πŸ™‚ ) Anyway because this jar is so heavy it will have to be a winner who can meet me in Sligo. It doesn’t matter where you live as long as you can make it to Sligo to pick it up. This is competition 1.

Competition 2 is open to anyone living in Ireland. It’s a box of Chocolate Orange segsations…if I don’t eat them before you win them πŸ˜‰

Competition 3 is open Worldwide. It’s a lighter prize so the postage won’t bankrupt me. It’s a bumper bag of sweets and an Instant Irish Accent Mouth Spray! Which we really want to try…if you win this you’ll have to let me know if it works….and don’t blame me if it doesn’t.

Competition 4 is only open to my Facebook fans, you will find it here.

Sorry this seems long-winded. I hope you understand it more than I do! Anyway all you have to do is tell me your favourite sweet and let me know which competition you are entering 1, 2 or 3. I’ll pick the winners at random, closing date is November 1st. Good luck πŸ™‚

  1. I have a huge sweet tooth so choosing my favourite sweet was tough but it has to be Barratt’s powdered milk bottles (with sour cherry colas coming in a close second – love anything sour.) I’d like to enter competition 2.

  2. I have to go for competition 3 because I’m abroad but I’d love to win them all! |:P

My favourite sweets are refresher chews!

  3. Competition 1- Yum yum!!
Well done on getting to the finals of the blog awards- well deserved nomination.

  4. Mmmmm hard to say which is my favourite sweet ….. I can haz more than one? Then it would have too be milk chocolate and fizzy cola bottles! I’d love to enter competition number 2 … thanks πŸ™‚

  5. I’d very much like a go at the ” Worldwide ” competition. The Irish accent spray sounds marvelous. It doesn’t specify which region or county’s accent, I would like a Donegal or a Mayo one should I be lucky enough to win please

  6. Has to be jelly bean factory jelly beans, I like the element of surprise… I’ll go for competition 1, am local and have a lot of mouths to feed!

  7. Well done getting to the finals of the blog award. For me, sweets create lovely memories. At school i loved floral gums (tiny jelly perfumed sweets i don’t think you get anymore), my lovely nana always odd fellows in her cardigan pockets (again i haven’t seen these in years) which meant she smelled of them and also barley sugar and another elderly family member loved fishermans friends which were tiny almost tablet like sweets that blew your head off (probably shouldn’t be given to children). I visited the aforementioned sweet shop when i was home in Sligo at the summer and had a lovely chat about a visit he had had to Scotland where i am from.

  8. Congrats on the blog and page views :-). Favourite sweet is a hard one, so many to choose and being that I grew up near the Haribo factory, sweets are nearly in my blood (hee hee). I think overall it would have to be wine gums or the sour jellies. Got me drooling now. Could you enter me into 1 or 2, both are lush, and i’ve no problem getting to Sligo πŸ™‚

  9. Definitely has to be cola cubes! Apple drops a close second. Pretty amazing sweets, I recently found them again for the first time since childhood.

As for chewy sweets, fruit salads are hard to beat.

I’d like to enter competition 3 please, thank you!
