I took Jono to Riverstown today, there was a multicultural day on at the Sligo Folk Park. It was nice to get out in the fresh air and luckily it stayed dry.
There wasn’t as many animals as last year which was a shame. There were some angry geese, a frisky turkey and a lovely little pony. As always I took plenty of photo’s, a few are on my flickr site, with more to follow and also a video when I get to do it.
The Sligo Folk Park is a nice place there is an old fashioned house, a school and Mrs. Buckleys cottage: The cottage wasn’t open today as it has been in previous years so we didn’t get to go into it, but anyway this little cottage was taken all the way to New York in 1994 for North West Radio’s Beat on the Peat.
There was also a French Market today and we bought some French almonds…I’m sure they have a ‘proper’ name. Jono also got a bratwerst sausage, there was also Spainish pizza, French crepes and lots of goodies to buy. Also some really good traditional music.
I was shattered when I got home…..it’s amazing how tired I feel but I suppose a lot has happened in the last two weeks.
