Firstly Happy Mother’s Day to anyone celebrating it today. We had ours in March although I may bake a cake later….just because The photo above is fitting for the day that’s in it. I was up bright and early to take Jono to the railway station yesterday as he was going to Dublin so Rocket-dog and myself headed to Boyle for an explore.
I felt very sorry for the stall holders as it was such a cold, miserable day. I was delighted to meet June though who is a regular visitor to my blog and makes these wonderful plaques.
My photos don’t do them justice. June has much better pics on her site. She also does commissions so if you are looking for a special gift for someone this would be just the job.
Rocket-dog was very impressed with the market, especially as two people recognised him! He also liked the look of King House. The rest of the photos from our morning in Boyle are here.
The second flash mob dance is now up on the internet for your viewing pleasure. This one was from Johnston Court, if you click Sligo Rising above it’ll bring you to the video. Well done once again for Karen for the editing and to her and Claire’s family who did a great job at filming….and I didn’t go wrong in this one (always a bonus!)
Last night Jono and I went to the cinema to see Flight. I had to bring Lucy into town to meet her friends so we killed time by watching the film. I had wanted to see it anyway although I’m not sure it was the best idea as I’ve just got over my fear of flying!! It was a great film though, we really enjoyed it…Denzel Washington is brilliant in it.
Just have to show you Rocket-dog kissing our neighbour. He just a hedge yesterday to get close enough!
Rocket-dog went to be groomed today. It’s the first time I’ve ever taken him to be groomed. I am friends with ‘Hotdogz’ on Facebook and during the week I saw photos of a Jack Russell that had paid a visit to them and I was amazed at the amount of hair that came out of the dog.
This is Lucky from, she is a rescue dog that Hotdogz adopted. A beautiful dog and Rocket liked her (which makes a big change for him as he usually doesn’t like dogs at all). He enjoyed his day out but he’s very tired now. Well done to Hotdogz for a great job.
We had him ‘done’ at Inishfree Veterinary Hospital, they are lovely there. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology and Darren the wonderful vet, we were sent the photo above on twitter. This was to tell us Rocket-dog was recovering from his surgery.
Darren has a brilliant blog of his own. Not only is he a vet he’s a brilliant photographer too. Take a look at his blog here.
More rotten weather. Although it was lovely this morning and I got to take the dog for a wander in the woods.
My aunt and uncle are still on holiday from Spain. They came over for dinner tonight and I made a black forest gateau which turned out quite well. I’ll post a photo tomorrow.
I won two competitions over the last couple of weeks. One was a pair of rocketdog shoes and the other was the Glee dvd set and soundtrack. So that was great. I’m still waiting to win the lotto though.
I also had a very nice mail inviting me to Dublin zoo on Saturday so watch this space for more about that…..and keep your fingers crossed that it stays dry.
